Today, many are feeling the strain of the lack of funds. There are many bills and not enough money coming in for people to keep up-to-date with their financial obligations. That’s why when people hear about student loan forgiveness programs for college graduates individuals and families really take notice.
Nearly everyone that attends college has a student loan of some kind to help pay for their education. If a person obtains a loan every year of their college career the money really starts to add up. It can be difficult to repay these loans once the student graduates.
Even though graduates have six months after graduation to find a job before loan payments are scheduled to start that doesn’t mean they will find a job in that time. Even if they do start working they often start at a low pay scale. These factors, along with the fact that they have other bills needing paid, such as a residence and vehicle; can make it difficult to find the money.
A student loan forgiveness program is designed to help graduates. They will either have the owed amount reduced or erased completely. Those getting the most benefit from these programs include doctors, teachers, nurses and lawyers. An example is the teacher that is employed full-time working in a low income area.
There are qualifications that have to be met to participate in the forgiveness program. Such as for the teacher working in the low income area, they need to contact their college to check on the student loan forgiveness program guidelines pertaining to them. This would be a good step for anyone that feels they may qualify or wants to obtain more information about the program. Other options are to research volunteer and employment opportunities that offer such debt relief programs.

Money Management Tips for College Students
Going to college can be expensive, especially when it comes to higher costs and other requirements. Also, since college students would be exposed to temptations right around them, saving money can be quite tough. Proper money management is needed because your child would be preparing for the future sooner than you think. Here are some important money management tips college students should consider:
· Open a Bank Savings Account – Money in your child’s pocket is as good as gone because you could be tempted to spend it. Deposit his or her money in the bank to solve this problem. Not only can you stop him or her from spending much, but also he or she can save a lot for future investments.
· Set Aside a Portion of Earnings – If your child has a part time job, it would be wise for him or her to set aside some of his or her earnings so he or she can manage future finances properly. The psychology behind this is there is a goal your child would definitely meet, motivating him or her to save.
· Don’t Spend Much – Basically, if your child doesn’t need it, he or she mustn’t spend money on it. College students can keep their finances secure by being frugal as it disciplines them to save.
Money management is tough in college because college students are easily tempted. When it comes to saving money, a bank account, a saving scheme, and discipline can go a long way.
